THE YOLO COUNTY ARCHIVE
The Yolo County Archives is the repository
for historical records of the County of Yolo. Most of the records
have been indexed. Many of the indexes are available at the
Archives and others remain with the office of origin.
Because the Archives is affiliated with the
Yolo County Library, some of the library’s collection
is available for use at the Archives. This includes city directories
and volumes on Yolo County history and architecture.
The manuscript collection of the Archives is
also a useful resouce for researchers. Approximately half
cataloged, it consists of records from twenty-one county departments
and fifteen private donors. Records include newspapers, official
records, photographs, title abstracts, maps, and blueprints.
The Archives has been funded jointly by the
County of Yolo by contributions from the Friends of the Yolo
County Archives and by grants from the National Historic Preservation
and Record Commission.
One-half hour of free research is offered by
Friends of the Archive Volunteers.
