I am seeking any descendants of Samuel & Eliza (Miller) Andrus (who came from NY state to MI in 1837), including those of their youngest son, Samuel Andrus jr. & Nellie Hartwick. Samuel moved to Van Nuys in Los Angeles Co. soon after 1900 from his former home at Weare, Oceana Co., MI. Whether his children : May B. or Lyson T. Andrus went with him to CA is not known, but Samuel did return to visit the family of his older brother, Stephen W. Andrus, at Milan, Washtenaw Co., MI a number of times. Samuel Andrus died in Los Angeles Co, CA at age 81 on April 26, 1930. Any information re: this family would be greatly appreciated.

Seeking more info on Family in SF. I have a John L. Mc Laughlin who was b. 1829-35 in Ireland, married a girl Elizabeth Scranton of IN, PA or MO. she was born 1840. They had two girls in MO (St. Louis maybe) 1861 & 1863. Mary Matilda and Emma. They made there way to West to SF around 1865. John L. Mc Laughlin worked as a diary man out on Old Santa Jose Rd. , they lived in the Noe Valley area on Chenery St. Then my gggf then became a builder may have built some of the houses they lived in along Chenery St. I have city directories listing 111-up the street. I even have old photos of some of the houses that are still there. Anyway they continued to have more kids: Annie, Robert Emmett, Lizzie, William, Olive and Ester. The mother Elizabeth died 3 months after her last child was born 1880. All the kids grew up and married (except Emma I can't find her or William). I can not find also were the mother is buried. I know there was a small grocery store at 200 Chenery that the oldest girl owns after she marries a Albert Johnson he also owns small saloon near by. I'm looking for old photos of 1880-1920 of this block, or any historical info on their businesses. Kids get married to: Mary Matilda Mc Laughlin to Albert Johnson (1879 aprox.) they have 9 kids who all go to fairmont School. I have one very net old school photo. Annie to William Dean 1898, Elizabeth or Lizzie marries Joseph Regan 1886, Robert Emmett marries Christina Knight, Olive marries John Kraft. This was a big catholic family and they all lived around each other. Since they were there in the beginning of when theses houses were all being built I feel that I do have important info for that area but I'm also searching for more info. Please contact me if you know anything about my family or the area. Note other surnames connected are: JOHNSON, CONDON, WALSH, DEAN, REGAN, SCRANTON There also maybe other Mc Laughlin Brothers or sister-laws that came to SF from records I've found, am interested in other McLaughlins of SF, especially Michael Mc Laughlin who owned Mc Laughlin Electric’s in 1904, there maybe a connection not sure.

He was born in 1838 and was a Captain in the Union Army during the Civil War. He was in the Kentucky State Militia, Harlan County Battalion, Company "A". After the war, he left his family in Kentucky and went west to California where he died. George W. MORGAN married Sarah CORNETT on 5 Oct 1856 in Perry County, Kentucky. After the war they lived in Hazard, Perry County, KY and he served one tern as jailer of Perry County. It has been told that he raised a new family in California. I am having trouble trying to identify an old photo from around 1920's or so. It is of my grandmother in front of a large statue/monument of a soldier mounted upon a horse placed atop a large granit block. The plague on the front is very hard to read but after trying to enlarge it, it seems to spell out BUNTA but this may be wrong. Seeking info on grandparents: Joseph Phillip Lord and Irene Nevada (Seaman) Lord. They were married in SF abt 1916/18 had 4 boys, Richard, Raymond, Robert and Edmond. Joseph Lord had been in Army for WW1 to become a citizen via Canada where he was born, after discharge he worked for Honolulu Ironworks in Hawaii, but returned to San Francisco about every two years. Oldest son Richard was born in SF in 1918. Could someone check vital records and pass on to me any info. Joseph died in 1929, possibly buried in SF. Irene died in 1958 in Richmond CA. I need the names of their parents if possible also, possibly on death certificates or marriage lic.? I have been trying for six months or better to recieve something on these two. Where did HIRAM BUNCH die? HIRAM BUNCH b. Texas, 1824 From his wife's obit (SARAH ROSS BUNCH) I've learned he died in California in 1866/67. The family were in Jamestown, Tuolomne Co, in 1860. As far as we can determine he was born in Canada according to a Utah 1851 census he said he was from Canada. It was rumored that he either went to the California Gold fields or returned to Canada. We believe his parents were George and Hannah Palmer from Cramahe, Ontario, Canada. We also know that Isaac received/bought some land in Canaada from a George palmer, who we think is either his father or his brother George Palmer Jr. who got land for military service. We also know that George, Jr.'s wife Phoebe, sent their daughter Rhoda to live with Isaac Palmer and his wife, Ann Elizabeth while she accompanied the Mormon Battalion after Georges's death. Rhoda lived with Isaac and Ann Elizabeth for quite a while and the named a daughter Rhoda after this young woman. We know Isaac left Ann Elizabeth while there were in Utah and she later went up to Bear Lake County, Idaho. We also know that Isaac joined the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saings and went to Iowa. We need substanciating information. We believe he was borned in late 1700 or early 1800 (Utah census of 1851 had him as an adult and born in Canada as I said before.) We could use any help possible. I have looked at the indexes for Family Tree Makers and they have George and Hannah Palmer listed in four suspected volumes, but I'm out of work and am hard pressed to purchase these volumes (1500 - 1990 Pedigrees CD, 1607-1776 England to USA, Canadian Genealogy 1600-1900, and world families 1600-1699. I am searching for a place of death for Byrd Tyler Daniel Sr, born 7 Feb 1833 Stafford Co Va; died 19 August 1890 California in a train crash. I do believe the date of death and date of train crash were the same. His body was sent back to his hometown, Lawerence Co, Ohio for burial. Does anyone have knowledge of where I may find details of this train crash? I do not have an inkling of WHERE in Calif this occured. The military transport ship San Francisco left NY on its maiden voyage in Dec. 1853 bound for San Francisco, CA with military troops and their families. It sank in the Atlantic during a storm off Cape Hatterras on Jan. 14, 1854 with great loss of lives. Some survivors continued on the journey on another ship and others croosed the plains by covered wagon. Among these were Jacob Duback/Tubach of Baden, Germany and his wife Dorothea Sauer of Bavaria. Hello, I am searching for family and descendants of Chester A. Johnson,originally from Cambridge, MA. and Glastonbury,CT. He was born in October 1885, the son of William T. Johnson and Adelaide (Addie) Margaret Blevins both of Cambridge. Parents of both were Vinson Charles CALABRO and Annie Bradley CALABRO. Annie, their mother left Vicksburg area and moved to Memphis, Tn. in late 1800s, then married a Dennis J. FARNEY. I am looking for a great granduncle whose last name is SPENCER who was born 07/31/1854 or 07/30/1853 He was a twin to my great grandfather ELLIS SPENCER.
