SURNAMES: JONES, PRIEST, DENNY
Just started investigating a newly found link in my family to the origin of Beckworth, Sierra Co, CA. My grandmother's written notes lead me to believe that a John JONES and a Peter PRIEST founded the place known as Jones Station until the late 1860s. I believe that John JONES may be my grandmother's grandfather. If so, his daughter Sarah Ann JONES married James Preston DENNY Jr in 1852. I am looking for any reference material on this JONES family. Thank you! (klansing@inreach.com)

SURNAMES: ATKINSON, QUINN
I have not been able to find information on Forest City in Sierra County. I had relatives who owned the Antelope Saloon, John P. and Rosanna H.(QUINN) ATKINSON, in the late 1850s. The ownership name was under Atkinson and Company, Proprietors. I did see a biography for a John B. ATKINSON, in the book: "Memorial & Biographical History of Northern California." Perhaps he is the same person with an erroneous middle initial?? Thank you for any and all help gathering information on Forest City and on my relatives. Valerie Burrows.
