They lived in San Bruno in the 70's and 80's, and moved to San Jose in the late 80's. They lived in a mobile home type park. I believe they passed away in the early 1990's. ALISON 2003-04-29 John Hutchins Looking for any more on this family, mentioned in THE ALISON FAMILY TREE (1916): The next to leave “the old roof tree” [in Putnam Co., IN] was William [son of Andrew and Elizabeth (Hedges) Alison], who in 1867 went to one of the garden spots of Missouri, to investigate the promises of fortune in that state which was then fast increasing its population by emigration from the states to the east. He returned the year following to Indiana and claimed for this bride Miss Susan Thompson Brown, oldest daughter of John Whitney Brown, whom he took back to the western home, to be followed in a few months by her father and his entire family. He soon invested his increasing possessions in land near Salt Springs, some ten miles to the west of Marshall, the county seat of Saline county. Here they remained for several years, when they left the farm and moved to Marshall to lead a less strenuous though prosperous life. From Marshall they removed to San Jose, [Santa Clara Co.,] California, in 1909. To them four children were born: Milton, Elizabeth, Mabel and Ralston. Of the four, the boys only have entered the marriage state. Etta Lucille, born 1904, and Helen Ralston, nine years younger, are the children of “Roy” and Etta Maud Conway, his wife. Together with Joaquin Moraga, Juan Bernal owned Rancho Languna de los Palos Colorados in Contra Costa County. Juan’s father was Apolonario Bernal y Soto. Apolonario came to California with his siblings, and his father Juan Francisco Bernal, and his mother, Josefa de Soto in 1776 (de Anza). They went to England. But the weather did not agree with them. They came to America about 1870. They passed thru Chicago and finally settled in San Jose. They had 6 children. Four of the children were born in Pati and the last 2 in the Netherlands. Fritz and George the 2 oldest are listed in the Santa Clara Co. History book 1922 Page 237 & 238. But I do not have a copy. Fritz and George were members of the San Jose Symphony Orchestra. The family owned their own race tract at one time. I can trace these people back to 1703 to the Netherlands.
