Prattville Man Killed By Bulldozer
Wesley S. Savercool, 44, of Prattville was fatally crushed and died instantly Monday afternoon when the bulldozer he was operating near Butt Lake went out of control on a steep slope and rolled over on him. Savercool was clearing right-of-way for the Laswell Construction Co. in connection with PG&E's Butt Lake hydroelectric project. He was traveling down a steep slope in the bulldozer, when it sudddenlty turned sideways and rolled over. He was thrown clear and caught beneath the machine. Sheriff-Coroner W. C. Abernethy said the accident was witnessed by several workers on the project.
Savercool has been living near Prattville while working on the construction job, but was a permanent resident of Oroville. He was born in Ohio Valley, a few miles easst of where he was killed. He is survived by three brothers, Herbert of Greenville; James of Oroville; and William of Redding. Also, three sisters, Evelyn Trapa and Lola Howard of San Francisco and Margaret Khron of Tracy. _________________ Elizabeth E. Bullard-Watson
